MY MY MY what a weekend that was. Two days of Jim Haliburton in Walsall Darlston. This man looks after 600 tenants and he’s got a lot of everything to show for it.
I learnt a lot – I learnt how to do it, how not to do it and how Jim does it which is a mixture of the two. All of this is recounted in his two inch thick ring binder of notes entitled ‘A Guide to becoming a multimillionaire HMO Landlord’ (A guide written by an experienced HMO Landlord with more than 100 HMOs showing how he started and runs his HMO business for (better or for worse) that he gave us as a bonus. Lunch was free and accommodation was free so you get to experience what its like to be a tenant in his property for a night. This course is well worth the money! The ring binder alone goes into SO MUCH DETAIL of how to do everything from The Design of an HMO, Construction Methods, Sources of Materials, Costings, Fire Safety, Heating Systems, Tenants & The Eviction of Its amazing to see how much can be achieved by one person – The sheer mass of his portfolio, tenants and staff. This man buys in volume! In summary it was an experience and an education and I recommend it to anyone who wants to develop HMO as a strategy and who wants to feel what its really like to be an experienced landlord
I have just finished going through your workbook, ‘A Guide to Becoming A Multimillionaire HMO Landlord’, together with your Manual covering ‘DIY Eviction’. They cover the entire process in detail, offering helpful tips on vetting tenants through to insurance and planning law considerations. I have also found the practical suggestions helpful, such as the master key system.
The real life examples you have included make it particularly interesting and relevant to everyday senarios.
In short, it is the entire process in one workbook, a real A-Z of becoming (and importantly remaining!) an HMO landlord. Of particular value from a practical point of view is the copy forms, legal notices and documents that come with the DIY Eviction manual.
Congratulations on an excellent product.

A superb course that clearly explains the ins and outs of the eviction process. Great value for money; for any landlord it’s worth every penny even if you just want to make sure your solicitor gets it right and doesn’t overcharge. The course is a must.
A real eye-opener ! Full of practical advice rather than vague theories and upsells to further courses. Includes visits to sites actually being converted into HMO’s. You can talk to the people actually doing the conversion and those managing them. The benefit of years of experience can be gained in days. De-mystified the court process. Cuts months off the time taken to get your propertyback. Well worth it ! Hope that this is of some use.
Dear Jim Thank you for a brilliant couple of days with you and your team. I greatly appreciate your generosity, hospitality and knowledge that you shared with me and that your team did as well. As you stress in your book – a lot (of life) turns on getting on and doing it – trying it, and continuing to learn as you go. With your generous help I think I am at that stage and now need to get on and have a go. I hope that I might be able to continue to use you as a guide and mentor as I go?
“I was absolutely over the moon with Jim’s HMO workshop! The content was superb and I feel like a HMO expert myself just by having Jim’s depth of knowledge being imparted. The other delegates in attendance were good fun; the networking benefits and information shared were invaluable. Jim is a captivating speaker and a sincere, professional man; spending time with him will inspire you to achieve brilliant things. Anyone who is serious about succeeding in property, no matter where their current specialization or knowledge level should attend Jim’s course. Oh and for value for money, even if it was £2000 for the day it would still be great value!”
I wanted to thank you for the Understanding HMO’s day course that you ran on 17th March.
I found the experience of the whole day invaluable, as your training and understanding of HMO’s was an introduction and insight into the real world of HMO’s as opposed to the kind of text book content that invariably is found on many property training courses: as a result I found your training to be the best course that I have ever attended.
My suggestion to anyone considering HMO’s, or is already involved in the HMO business, is to think very seriously about making any claims to knowledge of this sector before they’ve had the opportunity to receive, and enjoy, an input of your knowledge.
Once again, my sincere thanks
Thank you for facilitating such a great day yesterday. In addition to your good company, I learned some useful information and picked up some valuable tips. Very much appreciated,
“What a fantastic event delivered by Jim Haliburton. Jim is very informative and delivers all of his material in a fun and interesting way. My favourite part was actually doing a tour of a few of his HMO’s. Thanks Jim for a great event.”
